Hi

I would like to make an animation of my new logo (well, new enough), in Muvizu.

I made one for my old logo in Sketchup last year and here was the result.

I would like to do the same sort of thing with my new one, but you can't seem to add a texture to a sphere in Sketchup. I realized you could do this in Muvizu, but the image was very distorted and when changing the scale, it tiles the image. Can anyone help me with this please? Maybe a sphere texture map or something?

Thanks

To be honest I use a blender sphere and map it. YOu can probably do something similar in sketchup to ensure all the picture is in the right place.

Thanks Urban, I might have a go at using blender. I'll wait 'till tomorrow to see if they have a texture map first though.

Thanks

they do have a sphere you can use. I just never was able to create say the earth or moon without a seam in it even if i had it unwrapped. Usually its a rectangle something like 1:2 ratio or even 1:4 ratio to go on a sphere. I just found it a heck of a lot easier to make my own sphere in that case though

I might be able to do this for you if you send me the image you want to use

Last year, I saw a nice spheric & turning logo on this forum. It was a Muvizu tutorial in a TV.News studio... Not sure, but I think that the tip was a video file in a circle.

Ah, yes, I forgot about that tutorial. I'll see if I can do it that way and I'll report back with the results.

Thanks Guys

PS, if all else fails, I'll see if toonarama could make one.

Thanks again Guys!

Ok, here is the result.

It's a shame you have to use a spotlight instead of having the object illuminated.

Thanks to Dreeko for the tutorial.

Alternatively, you could also try the sphere from my "space set" - forum link and download: here

Looks like this, if you make it smaller and load a bumpy Earth texture:
