    Hatching a plan

    03 6月 2013 by Muvizu_Admin in News
All you Muvizuers know only too well the difference that a well constructed story can make to an animation. Thorough planning really can make all the difference. The storyboard has always played a key role in this as a key visualisation tool for animation and film production.

Here's how some of the world's most admired animators tackle it.

Here at Muvizu, MD Barry has been driving the creation of Muvizu since it was a simply drafted, pencil sketch of an egg. When the team here were 'down' in the Muvizu archives recently we found ourselves re-watching the fabulous "Geraldo and the Plan" created by Barry back in 2010.
At the time Barry also created one of Muvizu's first 'making of' blogs to share some of his approach to animating using Muvizu and some of the tools he uses.

"Geraldo and the Plan" was fairly ambitious, with over 60 shots and a musical number.
A few people asked him how it was made so he decided to share some of the steps to making the next episode which was tentatively called, "Geraldo in Stockholm". We think it still makes interesting reading.

One of the really great things about Muvizu is that you ARE able to just dive in and play with different ways to tell your story. But Geraldo reminde... Read more

    Muvizu at FMX 2013

    24 4月 2013 by Muvizu_Admin in News
This year Muvizu has journeyed to Stuttgart, Germany to take part in the FMX 2013, the Film and Media Exchange conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Transmedia. FMX is held in Stuttgart, Germany between April 23rd and April 26th. The week long event was founded in 1994 as the "Film and Media Exchange" and has been running annually since 1996.

This year's event has taken the slogan "Lean, Smart and Agile" - something we felt Muvizu fitted in to perfectly.

Tomorrow morning, 9am UK (BST) time, Digimania MD Barry Sheridan will be giving a 1 hour workshop on all things Muvizu but don't worry if you can't make it to Stuttgart in time as the whole presentation will be live streamed online.

    New textures coming soon!

    25 1月 2013 by Muvizu_Admin in Updates
Well, have we got exciting news for everyone! We've got a whole bunch of new textures coming soon to a Muvizu near you.

That's right! The art team has been working hard the past couple of weeks and we are very excited to share the great new outfits available very soon for Muvizu characters. There are so many different costume options to choose from - seriously, it's fairly mind boggling (Edit: caveat- we have small minds - they boggle easily). All these new wardrobe choices will make telling a story in Muvizu more exciting - the possibilities are (nearly) endless.

The variety of new textures for Muvizu characters will really expand your options. They are incredibly flexible too and work with an array of genres and themes. The new selection of textures includes nurses (regular or BLOODY!), goths, zombies, cyclists and loads more... Read more

And the Muvizu Christmas Treasure Hunt winners are...

    14 1月 2013 by Muvizu_Admin in Competitions
Hello fellow Muvizuers! Team Muvizu hopes that you all had a fantastic Christmas and New year! We hope 2012 was a good year for everyone but we hope 2013 is even better.

From December 1st to 24th 2012, Muvizu had fans racking their brains trying to solve the Christmas Treasure Hunt. The Treasure Hunt appeared on our homepage as an advent calendar with hotspots made live daily. Some hotspots linked to an animation treat, some linked to Muvizu videos containing hidden clues - clues that formed a code that needed to be cracked.

The code pieced together as the 11 digits of a YouTube URL that sent you to a video which gave you a set of instructions.

Code breakers were instructed to create a cartoon version of themselves inside Muvizu 3D waving and wearing something red. The first person to find all the clues, figure o... Read more
